Welcome to the home of Mayne Junior Tigers.

Formed in 1924, Mayne is one of the oldest Australian Football Clubs

playing in the Brisbane Junior competition. We are very proud of our long history of providing a quality sporting experience for the children of Brisbane.

Our major aim is to provide an environment where players, parents and supporters can enjoy the benefits of our great Australian game in an atmosphere conducive to community appreciation of good sportsmanship and behaviour.

Objectives of Junior Football

The major objective of junior football is to provide a controlled environment in which;

1. The players thoroughly enjoy themselves

2. The ideals of sportsmanship, self discipline, mutual respect, honesty and comradeship are encouraged.

3. An atmosphere of friendly co-operation and competition exists.

4. All players are actively involved.

In Ausfooty Rules (11 & under), the aims & objectives incorporate the above together with the following;

5. A minority of players are not permitted to dominate.

6. There is minimal risk of injury.

7. The winning of the game is of minor importance. Coaches and parents focus on the more important issues of coaching.

Our Club Objectives

• Provide a sporting experience at minimum cost.

• Teach the skills of AFL.

• Provide only accredited coaching.

• Provide a sporting opportunity for children of any gender, race, or cultural background.

• Promote a family experience and atmosphere.

• Promote sportsmanship.
